Well, that clears that up.

Just in case any of you were thinking that the Government of Russia might be feeling even the slightest bit bad about precipitating a war in Georgia and then invading the country...

Medvedev says he would do it again

Oh, and he had the unmitigated gall to claim comparable circumstances to the reaction to the September 11th, 2001 attack against Western civilization.

My contempt knows no bounds as to this.

John McCormack at The Weekly Standard kindly reprints in full...

The testimony of F. Kagen before the House Foreign Affairs Committee (Sept 9th) regarding how to deal with Russia from now.

It is safe to presume D. Medvedev's otherwise laughable comments are intended specifically as a foil against thinking like F. Kagen presented.

Good words, but are we going to walk the walk here? I am half-way convinced that we will try to "negotiate" our way out of this rather than taking any real stand.

I hope I'm wrong.

It's an excellent report, but with the EU waffling, what can we do? The EU has already said no to MAP to Georgia and Ukraine because their own interests are primary. What they don't understand is who they are dealing with. By the time they find out, it will be too late for many.
