Good morning all
Just my routine check in time to make sure I get counted.

Anyone have any comments regarding the McCain/Palin ticket???

@KC

Hi there and good to see you!

re: McCain/Palin comments.

I'll throw in one...

The campaign for the American Presidency is a functional dead heat with eight weeks to go. Some sources are even calling the GOP ticket *ahead*.

I'm hearing the lines from the 1991 movie 'Hudson Hawk' that start out: "You're supposed to be all cracked up at the bottom of the hill! ..."

Yeah, that musta been it. hehhehheh. What a bizarre election year.

Yes, indeed, a bizarre election year, and it feels like one of the longest in history!!
Do you receive an absentee ballot???

Glad to hear you were able to enjoy some time away from your busy schedule to attend a hockey game. Are hockey players in Japan as physical as our players are?? I remember very well in my "younger" days, going to hockey games every weekend just to see the fights!! I became know as the "rowdy rooter" and always sat right behind the penalty box (Opposite team) so you can just imagine!! Had a lot of fun back then.

@KC

Yes, American nationals living outside the U.S. can get absentee ballots (tied to their last U.S. state of residence), and I do vote.

Hehheh, yeah I got out to see the local Ice Hockey team play their first preseason game. I had a good time.

We do fight. It's hockey, after all. What we don't do as much is the highly physical gameplay. You'll see less "roughing", "boarding", "crosschecking", those sort of penalties. The style is a little more European skate-fast-pass-a-lot. Less push and shove makes it harder to get a big guy out of the crease if he gets set up in there, but we find ways around that.

The part of the day you would have liked was that Foxy (Mrs. LDG) got to spend half the game chatting up two new International players who had just arrived and hadn't been asked to dress for the game (it was preseason). She had way too much fun as the center of attention for two young, handsome Canadians. Hehhehheh. window shopping.

Blackfive asks a very reasonable favor.

This is what supporting the troops means...

If you have the wherewithall, e-mail Blackfive through his site for the contact information, please.

Woo Hoo!!!!! Window shopping hey! You better stay on your toes and keep the home fires burning- (grinning)
Glad to hear you both had a good time

Regarding Blackfive - Done and I'm in on that one.
Also sent link to my best gal friend who is President of one of our local VFW Posts. Guaranteed, she will get the ball rolling, and he will soon start receiving cards and packages.
Thanks for caring and sharing the link
