Why A. Uribe has been a good President

Besides being a heck of a successful defender of the nation...

Besides being fairly astute in his handling international relations with friend and foe (although not always in a friendly way)...

Besides a heck of long list of other good things...

He doesn't put up with political corruption.

If he'd consider the step down after his term of office ends, I understand Illinois State in the U.S.A. is about to have an opening for a Governor. He sounds like just the man for the job.

You know how much I love him--- I think he is the best thing Colombia has seen for mucho tiempo!!! And I hope Obama does not put him on the back burner!

Totally agree with Susan, Uribe has done in the past six years what was used to be thought impossible in previous decades.

If he were to go to Illinois, my guess would be that the vast majority of the political establishment would be out of a job...

Uribe has been excellent for Colombia. As for Chicago, the politicians there would come up against a brick wall; however, going back to Colombia, I do hope he does not run for a third term because it would leave him open to charges of trying to pull a "Chávez" and perpetuate himself in power. If he takes that step, he will lose the support of a lot of Colombians and others worldwide. Not a good or smart move. He can to more working in his party and grooming politicians who share his vision. Meanwhile, I do believe that Obama and the Dems will continue to stonewall because they are too beholden to the unions.
