3000 Hamas bombs later...

The Israeli Government has finally had enough of Hamas' intent to make war.

The IDF delivered pretty darn well targeted reprisal, which is no mean feat when dealing with the Gaza Strip (pop. 1.4 million, at over 4,000 people per sq. km.)

The Defense Minister of Israel also has been quoted as saying "It won't be easy and it won't be short."

He's right. On the positive side, the Government of Egypt which had been the negotiator on the "truce" (pause, actually) in Gaza is *furious* that Hamas walked away from the truce agreement this month. Furious Egyptians might just mean less arms smuggling and support for Hamas.

Just for completeness sake, here is the media version of GovEgypt saying all the right things so as to not get denounced by the Arab League.

For anyone needing a reason as to why Israel has to fight to stop the rocket/mortar harrassment from adjacent territories, here's a brief example:

Living your life where rockets are falling every day.

If you are American, draw some lines on a map, centering on Tijuana, Mexico, and see what life would be like in Southern California *if* the situation there was like it is in southern Israel. If you are European, try the same intellectual exercise using the southern areas of Danmark (Denmark) as the *hypothetical* point of attack.

looks like you were talking to yourself~

Israel said-- enough is enough--

Praise them!

Isn't this a way cool to live?

Wake up or maybe not wake up?

or maybe never sleep but if you can without major rockets around you?

Latest Reports coming in:

Operations continue, France seeks a cease fire.

Somebody tell N. Sarkozy that he's only supposed to be doing that to save our *friends*, not our foes.

@LDG--

You are so funny!

Sarkozy has been playing both sides against the middle all over the world; the way in which he called for a cease fire should not surprise any of us.
