So much for that Oct. 10th deadline.

If one has been waiting for a report on the Russian withdrawal from occupied land in the Republic of Georgia, it looks like one can keep waiting. Yes, the Russian Army did clear off from some of their checkpoints, but they haven't complied with the agreement.

Q: "more negotiations?"

A: "more negotiations."

Q: "more contempt?"

A: "more contempt."

Medvedev is a busy man-

reuters

President Dmitry Medvedev oversaw the test firing of an intercontinental Topol missile on Sunday and vowed to commission new generation weapons for Russia's armed forces.

How about getting busier Medvedev and get the Russian troops out of Georgia's separatist regions???

I am reading an article by Michael Totten--

the forgotten war of Nagorno (or “Mountainous”) Karabakh, has so far racked up a much higher body count – tens of thousands – than any in Georgia lately. Many more people – more than a million – were displaced. An uneasy ceasefire holds most of the time, but the conflict itself is not even close to being resolved. It’s a Mideast- and Balkan-style ethnic bomb that could easily blow up the region again and tempt Russia with another imperialist adventure in its “near abroad.”
