not much of a chance of him passing confirmation hearings, IMO.

It's all speculation at this point, of course, but according to [url=http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/11/07/obama-leaning-clintonian-democrats-tap-republicans-cabinet/]this report[/url] by FoxNews, Kennedy isn't under consideration for EPA chief. Rather the contenders appear to be:
Lisa P. Jackson, commissioner of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection;
Mary Nichols, head of California Air Resources Board; and
Kathleeen McGinty, former secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
In fact, Kennedy doesn't appear anywhere on FoxNews' list of potential cabinet members.

I've heard K.McGinty discussed as well (in the media). Any known good or bad points of any of those three possibilities?

The interesting one on the FoxNews list is Colin Powell being considered for Secretary of Education. State or Defense, maybe, but Education?

I *think* C. Powell has excluded himself from consideration for any cabinet seat...
...at least according to the WSJ on the 5th.
I'm beginning to think the FOXNews list was drawn up hypothetically as the election happened, and has fallen behind the pace of news this week.
Of course, we could just ask...
