...no to any reinstatement of Zelaya.

Best coverage of this at La Gringa's including a live 'blog of the proceedings up to the point of majority in opposition.

Here's hoping that this finishes the Zelaya nonsense and La Gringa can get back to her gardening.

Thank you! I was trying to remember where I knew your name from...then I saw your photo -- Facebook?

"...trying to..." ~ Well, not going to be from Facebook, as I'm not there; although some family and readers here are, and might have posted something over there.

If the memory association happened by seeing both name and picture together, then the odds are we met before the mid 1990's... somewhere... unless you lived in Japan prior to heading down Honduras-way. ((grin))

If the association is more recent, and internet related, that's more problematic as prior to opening this 'blog my full name rarely appeared on the 'net. That is slightly more than one year ago. Hm.

I know you (as La Gringa) through our chain of association via Fausta and friends.

Otherwise, we can play 6-degrees-of-separation by e-mail and try to find the link sometime. LDGARRETTatGMAILdotCOM

Hmmm. Maybe I've seen your comments (with photo) on other blogs. I bet that is it. If you have commented on mine - I apologize. I used to always look up the blogs of commenters when they were linked, but haven't had much time for that lately.

Thanks for caring about Honduras.

I did leave a comment to help out on a thread at your place, about who a certain UC Santa Cruz "history" professor is, and that would have shown the picture with my name.

It is my pleasure to be of service, and to give a little back to Honduras. Past life; many years gone by; it remains a place I hope the best for, always.

Thanks to you for all that you do.

Oh, yes, I remember your comment. Mark Weisbrot (not sure of the spelling) is another name that has come up often. Do you know anything about him?

L.Douglas Garrett said...

@La Gringa

Yep. He's over at the Center for Economic Policy Research (...doesn't that sound innocent?)

http://www.cepr.net/index.php/mark-weisbrot/

Runs the "Just Foreign Policy" front organization, as well.

Let's just say he's not your friend.

LDG,

"Let's just say he's not your friend."

Wow! You do have a talent for understatement. I have trouble saying Mark Weisbrot's name without sneering, spitting, and vomiting, all at the same time.

@Roy

hehheh...

I confess to reserving such full-on displays for certain people (who I both know personally and despise), it might not be entirely unwarranted in this case. The man does great harm.

LDG,

I am usually a bit more reserved than that about my criticisms, but I live in Venezuela and Mark Weisbrot is cynically and hypocritically profiting from the destruction of this beautiful country. I must admit that he is very very good at what he does. Joseph Goebbels would be proud. However, this only makes what he does worse, because it is not possible for him to be as intelligent as he obviously is, and still believe in his own propaganda.

That makes him both a moral and intellectual hypocrite as well as a traitor. The worst part of it is that he never will, nor can, be called to account for the damage he has done.

LG,

Remember the thread on your blog about where "news" comes from? Mark Weisbrot and the "Center for Economic Policy Research" is one of the largest producers of partisan propaganda of the far left that ends up being republished as "news". It is big business and he is in it in a big way.
